| The model -
this was an unannounced release at the end of October 2006. LF 9 has also
been been modelled at 1/76th by Best Choose, details of which can be found
here.
As pointed out by Jacky Ho, the diorama of shops that accompany's this
model feature some retailers not really reminiscent of the 1970's - Spaghetti
House, digital photograph and mobile phones!!
The bus
- LF9 was one of the first batch of 30 Daimler Fleetlines with Metal
Sections bodywork, which entered service between January and May 1974.
They were commonly known as 'Jumbos'. When new, these buses were fitted
with a small destination screen and single track route number blind. LF9
carries the 'Jump on a Jumbo' slogan, and an experimental CMB logo. LF9
was withdrawn in June 1992 and later scrapped.
The above information has been extracted
from the excellent reference book 'Hong
Kong Buses - China Motor Bus', by Mike Davis and published by DTS Publishing.
A photograph of the actual vehicle can also
be found in this book.
