The model - an unexpected release from Best Choose, who are usually associated with diecast models, is their first resin model in the form of China Motor Bus MCW Metrorider CM2. It was released in Hong Kong on 10th November 2005.

The bus - CM2 was one of two wide-bodied MCW Metroriders acquired by CMB in 1988 for trials on various routes. CM1 was fitted from new with air-conditioning whereas CM2 was retrospectively fitted with air-con in 1989. It obviously proved unsuccessful, and no further orders were placed. Both were scrapped in February 1996.

The 1999 Hong Kong Yearbook contains an article on the MCW Metrorider and includes several photos of CM1 and CM2 including several of CM1 being cut for scrap.
