Trident No 2310 has been decorated with a special banner advert which reads
'Salute to the Founder' and depicts Citybus vehicles and liveries since
the formation of the company.
Citybus and NWFB Announce
Appointment of Managing Director - 1st February 2006
The Companies announce
that Mr Lyndon Rees, Managing Director, will retire at the end of February
2006. Mr Samuel Cheng Wai Po will succeed the position.
Aged 67, Mr Rees is
the last founding director of Citybus and has been the Company's Managing
Director since 1982. Prior to establishing Citybus in the 1980s, Mr Rees
joined the Hong Kong Government Transport Department in 1969 and became
Traffic Manager of China Motor Bus in 1970 having previously occupied positions
in the UK bus industry. He assumed the additional responsibility of New
World First Bus in 2004. In his bus career, Mr Rees has played an important
role in revolutionising the public transport services in Hong Kong, having
initiated many innovations. The Companies are thankful for his contribution
in the past years and wish him a long and happy retirement.
Mr Cheng, aged 46,
graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Social Sciences
degree. He is a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr Cheng joined Citybus Limited as the Financial Controller in 1992 and
became the Director and General Manager in 1995. Before taking up the new
role, he is currently the Deputy Managing Director (Finance & Administration)
of NWFB and Citybus and the Chief Financial Officer of NWS Transport Services
Limited, the holding company of NWFB and Citybus. He is also a Director
of Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited.
Mr Mark Savelli will
remain as Deputy Managing Director of the two Companies with additional
responsibilities for Finance and Administration, in addition to his current
management of Operations and Engineering.
Citybus and NWFB are
jointly owned by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited and NWS Holdings Limited.
