The first Mercedes-Benz OC500LE entered revenue service on 29th June 2008. Fitted with Gemilang bodywork and registered SMB 1H, it was is the first bus in South-East Asia to be fitted with an Euro 5 engine and was used for evaluation purposes, mainly on route 190 from Chua Chu Kang to New Bridge Road. By the end of September 2008, 67 units had been delivered and a further 66 are expected by the middle of 2009.
