Whilst being announced in KMB's 'KMB Today'
magazine in July 2002, this model was never released, and it is believed
that this is as a result of the use of what appears to be an ABC casting
(see here). It was scheduled for release
in August 2002 with a quantity of 3,000 pieces.
The model differs from the ABC versions in
that the windows are all in the closed position and the driving mirrors
are already fitted.
M1 was the first of three prototype 12 metre
MCW 'Super' Metrobuses ordered by KMB for evaluation, arriving in Hong
Kong in May 1981. It was later renumbered 3M1, the "3" being added to denote
3-axle vehicles.
