| As is customary on this site at this time of the year, over the next two weeks you have the opportunity to vote for your Favourite New Casting of 2004 along with your Favourite Livery of 2004. Whilst this is a bit of light-hearted fun for the festive season, I am pleased to announce that this year 80M Bus Model Shop have kindly agreed to provide one of the forthcoming Cars Workshop KMB Enviro 500 models to the winner of each category. This is to celebrate the recent opening of their sixth shop, located in one of the most prestigious shopping arcades in Kowloon, Langham Place. The photos below show both the shop and the arcade itself. The full address is Shop 33, L11, Langham Place, 8 Argyle Street, Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
To see the list of models in each
category, the competition rules and more importantly, to cast your votes, follow
this link. I am advised that the eagerley awaited book 'Evolution of Hong Kong Buses - the Island' is due for release shortly. 19th

Pictured above is a new qb model
which features all-over advertising for Po Sum On. The model
is not on general sale, but details on how one can be obtained can be found by
following the link. Further photos of the model will appear shortly. I am reliably informed that the release date for the forthcoming publication - "Hong Kong Trams - Hong Kong Tramways 100 Years" from DTS Publishing will be delayed by at least a week which may prevent copies reaching Hong Kong before Christmas.
It's been reported that KMB's Volgren
bodied Volvo B9TL demonstrator - AVD1 (LJ7006) - will be returned to Volvo's dealer
by mid-December. Bus Fan World organised a dedicated farewell tour for this bus
on Sunday 12th December 2004, a photo of which is included above. I am looking to redesign my 'Homepage'
and if there are any web designers out there who may be interested,
please e-mail me 18th

| I was deeply shocked and saddened to read on the Diecast Buses Interactive Group today that Gerry Brown, the site founder and owner, unexpectedly passed away last night. Gerry was the driving force behind this hugely successful group, which has gone from strength to strength since it's formation in April 2001. I
would like to offer my deepest sympathy to his wife Christine and daughters Laura
and Sarah, and I do this on behalf of all the visitors to this site. Needless
to say, our thoughts and prayers are with them, and the rest of his family, at
this sad time. 7th
