 15th January 2007

Two new pages have today been added to the Xtra section of the site. Although not directly connected to Oriental Model Buses, I am sure they will be of interest. The first features the newly released Wilts and Dorset Mercedes-Benz Citaro from Creative Master Northcord. With Wilts and Dorset being my 'local' operator I just couldn't resist!  The second, which is probably of greater interest to those visitors to the site who live outside of Hong Kong, features photographs of the Ngong Ping Skyrail. As always, my thanks to Donald MacRae for providing the photographs.
13th January 2007

 6th January 2007

Following the counting of votes cast in the recent competition, I am now able to publish details of the results, which are as follows:-

FAVOURITE NEW CASTING OF 2006

1st place - Drumwell - MCW Metrobus

2nd place - Cars Workshop - Volvo B9TL/Enviro 500

3rd place - Cars Workshop - Volvo B10TL/Volgren

Twenty-three of you matched the votes of the overall result, and these names were put into the hat, with Chan Yu Sang being drawn as the winner. He will receive the Drumwell air-con MCW Metrobus, when released from 80M Bus Model Shop.

FAVOURITE LIVERY OF 2006

1st place - Year of the Dog - Citybus/New World First Bus

2nd place - Year of the Dog - Kowloon Motor Bus

3rd place - Shanghai Shen Xin

With only 4 choices, it was not surprising that the votes of 74 of you matched that of the overall result. These names were put into the hat, with Steve Mills of the UK being drawn as the winner. He will receive the Cars Workshop Alexander-Dennis Enviro 500 in all over white livery from 80M Bus Model Shop.

Special mention must be made of Andrew, Andrew Gilchrist, Chan Yu Sang, Curt, Keung Kin Wai, KV5952, Lee Sing Leung, Louis Kung, Nganki and Ronald, whose votes in both categories matched those of the overall results  -  well done!

The full results can be found by following this link.

I would like to thank everyone who took part in the vote, and special thanks to 80M Bus Model Shop
for agreeing to provide the prizes.

I am grateful to regular contributor Andrew Shirley for advising me that the Concorde Hobby Model website is now advertising another two P&T Albion Viking/Duple coaches, this time in Driver Training/Driving School liveries. It would appear that the quantities are as low as 60 models, and the retails price is HK$488.

4th January 2007

Voting has now closed for your Favourite models of 2006. The results will be published as soon as possible.

A new page has been added to the Xtra section of the site for the 'Year of the Pig' liveries, the only one so far being KMB's example!
