The above photograph shows one of the latest New Lantao Bus MAN NL273 about to enter service in Tung Chung. Higher resolution images have been added to the Xtra section of the site - just follow the link and select 'Other Hong Kong Bus Operators'.

A new page has been added for the forthcoming Britbus China Motor Bus Dennis Loline (DL-CM1).

I am advised that Membership Forms for the Hong Kong Classic Transportation Club are now available from 80M Bus Models' outlets. The membership fee is HK$150/yr. One of their preserved buses will become the membership application bus on 6th April 2008 when it will be at Jordan (Wui Cheung Road) Bus Terminus between 1300 and 1700.

My apologies for the missing photograph of the MTR Alexander Dennis Enviro 500! This has now been rectified and a higher resolution photograph has also been added to the Xtra section of the site. Clearly my age and work load is taking it's toll (!!) so I am pleased to report that I am now on holiday for a week. There will be no updates during this time but  do please continue to send any news items or photographs ready, for my return on 3rd April.

I am advised that a model featuring CMB's Dennis Loline LW1/AD4527, in its original livery, is currently on display at 80M Model Shop's Prince Edward Store. It is believed that this model will be released shortly. I assume this is a Britbus model.  My thanks to Dennis Law for providing this information.

The 'Resin Models' section of the site is currently undergoing re-organisation to give it the same format as that for the 'Diecast Models' section. During this period certain pages will be unavailable, for which I apologise.

I've been informed that an organisation named as 'Hong Kong Classic Transportation Club' has been established in Hong Kong, with a number of preserved buses under their ownership. Their website can be found at http://cltbus.com/CTC/CTC-index.htm. Unfortunately, the site is in Chinese only.

Following yesterdays report on the imminent release of KMB's 'AN' class Dennis Lance, I am advised that there appears to be issues with the quality of this model, and as a result some of this first batch have been rejected. The model pictured on hkitalk.com is believed to be one such model, which has found it's way into the market in China. As a result, the release of the model is still unknown.

These three Hong Kong DVDs have just been launched by independent transport videos.  Further details and a summary of each can be found at the independent transport videos  website - just follow the link.

My thanks to Stephen Cho who reports that the Australian bound Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 will be arriving in Brisbane, Queensland on 31st March. Here it will be demonstrating for about a week or two, before heading south to Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, where it will be attending the Bus And Coach Association New South Wales bus and coach show on 18-21 April. It will then move to Sydney for a week, between 23-29 April, for the two potential customers there - State Transit and Comfort Delgro (owners of Westbus/Hillsbus). Finally it will move on to Canberra and Melbourne for further demonstrations and it is expected to head back to Hong Kong in May.

The above photograph confirms the report last month (26th February) that one of the New World First Bus Enviro 500s is destined for Australia as a demonstrator. Believed to be fleet number 5504, the bus carries the slogan 'Reaching New Heights in Australia' - maybe a model to follow! Further, higher resolution photographs have now been added to the Xtra section of the site under the 'Other Items' category. My thanks to both Alan W. L. Wong and Dennis Law for providing the photographs and information.

I was saddened to hear, earlier today, of the tragic loss of Don Craggs, the man behind ABC Models, AsianBus, Ox and Britbus.

I first came in contact with Don back in 1999 at the time of the launch of ABC Models. Not only did he provide me with detailed information for the site on forthcoming models, he also provided samples for review. I recall collecting one parcel from the Post Office that contained about 12 models! His articles in the various diecast magazines during my early collecting years were something to look forward to and even now are frequently re-read. Indeed, his enthusiasm for our hobby played a major part in this site  developing as it did during it's early years. I subsequently met Don at Showbus on several occasions and despite always being busy, he would always make time to talk - a very sad loss.
