According to the Across website, Kowloon Motor Bus today registered 15 of its new Volvo B9TL/Wrights Gemini 2, namely AVBWU47-AVBWU51.
28th February 2011

It is believed that Kowloon Motor Bus put its two-axle Volvo B9TL/Wrights Gemini 2 (fleet no. AVBWS1) into revenue earning service yesterday.

A glitch in an update yesterday resulted in the format of this page being rather 'all over the place', for which I apologise.  Hopefully this was resolved early this morning and this further update has been successful.

My thanks to both Lok Hin Lee and Philip Chan for providing further details on the Kowloon Motor Bus Daimler carrying all-over advertising. I can confirm that it is not a forthcoming release, but a tailor-made model and is retailing for HK$950.

As an aside, this update is the first from my new pc, and not only have I had to get used to this, but also the new software, as the old and familiar were not compatible - hence everything is taking a little longer - hopefully things will improve!

Venus Collectibles have announced the imminent release of the MBG02a, Kowloon Motor Bus Guy Victory J G4, on route 40M to Tsuen Wan Ferry. It is set for release on 26th February at a retail price of HK$349. It is limited to 150 pieces. The major changes on this version are the metal driver screen frame and small window opening on front door way.

On display in the 80M Bus Model Shop in Mong Kok is a model of KMB Daimler with a 1970s all-over striped advert for, I believe, keeping Hong Kong clean. A photograph of the actual bus can be found on page 105 of the book 'Evolution of Hong Kong Buses - Kowloon & the New Territories', published by 80M. It is not known whether this will be the subject of a new model.
22nd February 2011

New pages have now been added for the two forthcoming KMB Dennis Dragons from Cars Workshop, fleet nos. 3N163 (92602) and 3N164 (92601). Product codes for these two models have yet to be confirmed.

Despite being sent details of the introduction into service of SMRT Buses (Singapore) hybrid Zhongtong LCK6112GHEV demonstrator back in January, I omitted to publish these - so they have tonight been added to the Click here to visit the Xtra pages section of the site.
