Citybus's 12.8 metre Wrights bodied Volvo B9TL was noted at the To Kwa Wan Examination Centre today. It is believed that the bus will undergo its tilt test in the next week or so. A new page and further photographs have been added to the Click here to visit the Xtra pages section of the site. My thanks to regular contributor Dennis Law for this information and photographs.

I am reliably informed that Kowloon Motor Bus will decorate three of its vehicles for the Year of the Goat, these being a 12-metre Volvo Olympian, an ATEU class Enviro500 and an ATE class Enviro500, this being in a plain gold livery.

A new double-decker bus service will return to Adelaide in November, running between the airport and the city, the first time double-deckers have been used in Adelaide since trolleybuses ceased operating  in 1958. The State Government is leasing the buses on a six-month trial basis, mainly to cater for overseas and interstate visitors. The new double-decker is being branded as JetExpress service, to compliment current JetBus services.

Preserved former China Motor Bus/New World First Bus Leyland Victory, LV30, participated in an event, "Festival HK", held at Victoria Park today. It was as an exhibit together with some classic UK cars to inform people about the history of Hong Kong transport circa 60s - 70s.

SMB5888H, the MAN double-deck demonstrator made its training run on 16th October with the bus captains familiarising themselves.
The bus is bodied by Gemilang and is sold under the Lion's City double-deck branding, though the chassis in the vehicle registry indicates it to be an A95. The signage is unknown though it looks to be Mobitec, but it remains to be confirmed.

According to a post from SMRT,

"
Hi everyone, We received a number of queries from bus spotters who asked about a new double-deck bus at one of our depots.

We confirm that SMRT Buses will put on trial one new MAN double-deck bus at the manufacturer's request. The trial will last a year. This is part of our ongoing effort to test new bus models. Our commuters have welcomed the addition of double-deckers to our growing fleet of buses to meet increased demand.
"

My thanks to Mark Chua for providing the above report.

With the current protests having an effect on transportation in Hong Kong, Citybus vehicles are now displaying just route numbers where the normal final destination is not achievable. ADL Enviro500 8256 shows such an example.
