Two forthcoming releases from Kowloon Motor Bus.

Best Choose are to release two versions of a Long Win Volvo Olympian, albeit without Long Win fleetnames. The first is on route E32 to Kwai Fong MTR (180117) and the second is on route E64 to Tung Chung (180118). Each is limited to 350 pieces.

AK Classic are to release two versions of Albion Viking EVK41XL - AR7716 is on route 40 to Tsuen Wan Ferry Pier (3301) whilst the second unidentified model is on route 17 to Oi Man.

Set for release in February is this New Lantao Bus Year of the Monkey liveried MAN A95. Produced by Model 1, fleet no. MD01 (TU9868) is on route 38 and is limited to 688 pieces (63201).

Released today in Hong Kong are these two Year of the Monkey models. New World First Bus Enviro500NG 5618 (TN1550) is on route 2 to Central (Macau Ferry) (80554/20048) whilst Citybus Enviro500NG 8503 (TN381) on route 8X to Happy Valley (L) (80553/CM102). Each is limited to 1,200 pieces.

Set for release on Saturday are these two Kowloon Motor Bus Year of the Monkey models.

Wrights Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL AVBWU317 (SR8808) is on route 268X to Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Fuk Estate) and is limited to 2,000 pieces (KLE16001) whilst Enviro500 ATEU33 (PZ8988) is on route 117 to Happy Valley Lower and is limited to 1,800 pieces (KLE16002).

Both the Citybus and New World First Bus Year of the Monkey models are due to be released in Hong Kong tomorrow.

Also set for release tomorrow are these China Motor Bus Guy UF single deck buses from P&T (B0044) - there are 4 different versions with a total of 500 pieces - details are (left-right):-

Version A : HK4808 on route 1 to Happy Valley
Version B : HK4812 on route 2 to Cleverly Street
Version C : HK4227 on route 8A to Chai Wan
Version D : 4113 on route 10 to North Point

Following yesterday's news on the imminent release of a resin Hino recovery truck, my thanks to Andy Higgins for allowing me to use his photograph of the actual vehicle to be modelled. Andy's Flickr site, with over 24,000 photos, is well worth a look!.

A new resin model of a Hino recovery truck, similar to the above, albeit minus KMB decals, is set for release by Automodel. It represents vehicle RF 2119.

Model 1 are also set to release a further version of their MAN A91 coach, this being in the attractive pink and white livery of Kwoon Chung Motors (63106). This will be limited to 888 pieces.

New pages have now been added for no less than eight recently released AsianBus China Motor Bus Guy Arab MkV models in varying guises, namely:-

CB01 - a red/cream water bowser (AD4589) - 672 pieces
CB02 - a blue/cream water bowser (AD4589) - 360 pieces
CB03 - a yellow tow truck (AD4563) - 480 pieces
CB04 - a yellow tow truck but with blue mudguards (AD4563) - 672 pieces
CB05 - a blue/cream double-deck bus (S38) on route 23B to North Point - 480 pieces
CB06 - a blue/cream double-deck bus (S15) on route 73 to Stanley - 480 pieces
CB07 - a red/cream double-deck bus (S31) on route 1 to Happy Valley - 480 pieces
CB08 - a red/cream double-deck bus (S23) on route 101 to Kennedy Town - 480 pieces

CB9 and CB10 are Guy Arab tree trimmers that are set for release shortly

These models are only available from The World of Diecasts.

The Hong Kong marathon today saw the Citybus non-franchised fleet busy operating special services.

The Bus Stop, a new website dedicated to Hong Kong buses, has advised that 5 of the 7 remaining MAN NL262s that DBTSL operate were retired on 14th January. The buses include 4 of the 5 two-door MAN buses that were purchased second hand from Citybus in 2005, as well as a single-door NL262, bought new by DBTSL in 2000. The buses retired were :- DBAY115 (JM1951) (ex-CTB 1571) , DBAY78 (JL8120) (ex-CTB 1572), DBAY90 (JL6596) (ex-CTB 1573), DBAY21 (JL8491) (ex-CTB 1574) and DBAY127 (JL5514).

Released today in Hong Kong today is this Friends of KMB 20th Anniversary Dennis Trident ATR456 (KLE15030). It is on route 40 to Tsuen Wan (Nina Tower) and is limited to 1,200 pieces.

Tramric Tram & Transport Souvenirs have recently issued the above tram (TR110).

The first Wrights Gemini 2 bodied Volvo has been registered by MTR Bus - fleet no. 319 (TX4303) whilst KMB's ATENU class passed the 900 mark today as ATENU896-903 were registered.

Details of the Citybus and New World First Bus Year of the Monkey models have been announced. Both feature an ADL Enviro500 NG - the Citybus model represents 8503 (TN381) on route 8X (CM102) whilst 5618 (TN1550) is the subject of the New World First Bus model, which is on route 2 (20048). Each is limited to 1,200 pieces.

As reported yesterday, New Lantao Bus has applied Year of the Monkey decals to MAN A95, MD01.

8th January 2016

Saturday (9th) will see the release of the two versions of Kowloon Motor Bus Leyland Olympian AL1 along with the route 290 branded ADL Enviro500NG ATENU456 (KLE15028).

New Lantao Bus MAN A95, MD01 (TU9868), has received Year of the Monkey decals.

Three further Kowloon Motor Bus models have been announced, one of which is Dennis Trident ATR456, which appeared in October last year with Friends of KMB 20th anniversary decals (KLE15030). The model is on route 40. The other two both feature Leyland Olympian AL1 , one on route 6 to Mei Foo (KLE15041) and the other on route 238M (KLE15041A). No further details are presently known.

Although registered on 17th December, China Light and Power Enviro500NG TW3941 entered service today.

As reported yesterday, Kowloon Motor Bus ATEU33 has been decorated with Year of the Monkey decals and thanks to Grant Ng Kwok Kuen for allowing me to share his photographs.

Citybus has registered it's first production 12.8 metre 'facelift' ADL Enviro500, 6301 (TW9859), which was noted in service yesterday.

The second Kowloon Motor Bus Year of the Monkey decorated bus is Alexander Dennis Enviro500 ATEU33.
