As reported back on 16th June, Discovery Bay has acquired former Citybus Volvo Olympian 570 (HD6896) and it is pictured above earlier today in service, having been allocated fleet no. DBAY215.

I have tonight added a brief review of the China Motor Bus Dennis Condor from BusByBono, which can be found here (200101).

I have today received the above China Motor Bus Dennis Condor from BusByBono. This is one of two new 1/76 scale releases made from what is described as ABS, and appears to be a form of plastic. The model features DL2 (CW3359) on route 106 to Chai Wan and is limited to 500 pieces (200101). A review of the model will follow shortly.

The two Kowloon Motor Bus 'Airbus' liveried Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Darts go on general sale on Friday, 24th June. AA22 (FP6003) (top) is on route A3 to Airport (KLE16012) and AA19 (FP1778) is on route A5 to Tai Koo Shing (KLE16013). Each is limited to 950 pieces.

Long Win Bus placed it's 12.8 metre 'facelift' Enviro500s into service today, and further photographs have been added to the  section of the site.

News of two more models that have now been released - these being Kowloon Motor Bus 'Airbus' liveried Duple Metsec Dennis Darts. One features AA22 (FP6003) on route A3 to Airport (KLE16012) and the other features AA19 (FP1778) on route A5 to Tai Koo Shing (KLE16013).

Thanks again to Grant Ng Kwok Kuen who has sent me a selection of Go Ahead buses in Singapore, more of which have been added to the  section.


   
Congratulations to Steven M. Smith, owner of the Hong Kong tram layout 'Yellowthreads Treats', for having his superb layout featured in the latest (July) edition of Continental Modeller. An excellent six page article gives an insight into its background along with a good selection of photographs, more of which can be found on Steven's website 'Steve's World of Trams'.


Long Win Bus has registered its first seven 12.8 metre 'facelift' Enviro500s, allocating them the fleet nos 1501-7.

 
Former Citybus Volvo Olympian 570 (HD6896) has received Discovery Bay Transit livery.

Meanwhile, AsianBus appear to be planning the release of three MCW Metroriders - China Motor Bus CM1 and CM2 as well as Kowloon Motor Bus AMR1.

Singapore News

In my absence, Tower Transit officially commenced operations on Sunday, 29 May 2016, with the first phase involving 9 bus routes - 77, 106, 173, 177, 189, 941, 945, 947 and 990. Tower Transit is Singapore's 3rd bus operator, after having won the contract to operate 26 bus routes under the Bulim Bus Package. The other services in the package will be gradually handed over to Tower Transit in two more phases, on 12 and 26 June.

Buses Model Co. are to release two versions of a China Motor Bus 11.45 metre MCW Metrobus. One features MB12 on route 20 to Central (BMC12020) and the other features MB34 on route 102 to Lai Chi Kok (BMC34102). Each version is limited to 750 pieces.

This is welcome news, as only two resin models have been issued of this type of vehicle, these being released over ten years ago.

Meanwhile, two 12 metre KMB Dennis Dragons are set for release tomorrow. 3AD128 (HS851) is on route 269B to Tin Shui Wai Town Centre and carries banner advertising for Lai Tam Tunnel Routes (KLE16007) and 3AD167 (HT346) is on route 671 to Ap Lei Chau (Lee Kok Street) and carries standard white livery (KLE16008). Each is limited to 900 pieces.
