Citybus 6811 is believed to be the last of the batch of twelve Cityflyer liveried 12.8 metre 'facelift' Enviro500s, albeit when photographed earlier today, it had yet to receive such branding! It was registered on 27th January.

pages showing a few more images of this impressive model along with photographs of the actual building on which it is based on - thanks to Donald MacRae and Keith Wood.

The latest lowheight 'facelift' Enviro400 to enter service with New World First Bus is 3817 (UN 8708), having been registered on 26th January. It was noted today operating on route 26 - note the missing fleetname on the offside!

Meanwhile Citybus continue to register its 12.8 metre 'facelift' Enviro500s, both in the 63xx and 65xx series. Standard seating layout 6399 is seen here earlier today and despite being registered two days prior to 3817, it was the first bus to be allocated a 'UP' registration.

The two Discovery Bay Gemini 2s were released in Hong Kong today. They feature DBAY208 (TN 7303) on route DB01R to Discovery Bay Pier (63060) and DBAY213 (TP 4903) on route DB03R to Sunny Bay Station (63061) . Each is be limited to 600 pieces.

The latest 1/110 scale bus release from Tiny features a 'facelift' 12.8 metre Long Win Bus Enviro500. Once again this is an un-licensed issue and as such it carries no fleetnames or logos (ATC64127).

Released in Hong Kong yesterday were the two Kwoon Chung Bus Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Tridents from Model 1. On the left is HU 7617 on route B2 (63403) and on the right is HT 9500 with a destination of Kwoon Chung Bus (63402). Each is limited to 450 pieces.

This China Motor Bus Leyland Olympian is a member exclusive model from Network Shuttle and produced by Model 1. The member needs to have accumulated 600 points together with payment of HK$400. It features LM5 on route 42 to Wah Fu.

Confirmation that the New World First Bus and Citybus 'Year of the Rooster' models have been released in Hong Kong today - New World First Bus (top) features a 12 metre 'facelift' Enviro500 on route 101 to Kennedy Town (63338/20060), whilst the Citybus model features a 12.8 metre example on route 788 to Central (63339/CM118) - each is limited to 1,318 pieces.

Higher resolution images of the two Kowloon Motor Bus 'Year of the Rooster' models have now been received and these have now been added to the respective pages. ADL Enviro500 featuring ATENU139 on route 265B to Tin Heng Estate (KMB-M-2016004) whilst the Wrights bodied Volvo B9TL features AVBWU429 on route 603 to Central - Central Ferry Piers (KMB-M-2016005).

Following on from yesterdays news, the two NWS Holdings Year of the Rooster decorated buses were noted in service today. It is believed that models of both are set for release tomorrow (19th).

The NWFB model features a 12 metre 'facelift' Enviro500 (fleet no. 5686 - TZ 8996) on route 101 to Kennedy Town (63338/20060).

The Citybus model features a 12.8 metre 'facelift' Enviro500 (fleet no. 6371 - UD 7005) on route 788 to Central (63339/CM118).

Quantities for each are 1,318 pieces.

Sadly one person died and 18 were injured earlier today in Hong Kong when Citybus Enviro500 8147, on route 681 from Ma On Shan Town Centre to Hong Kong Station, was involved in an accident resulting in the bus flipping on to its side.

Model 1 has announced it is to release two Wrights Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL in Discovery Bay livery. The models will represent DBAY208 (TN 7303) and DBAY213 (TP 4903), both of which were captured at Discovery Bay on 24th November 2016. No further details are known.

I can confirm that their release is expected towards the end of January and each will retail for HK$428.

DBAY208 (TN 7303) - Route DB01R - Discovery Bay Pier (63060)
DBAY213 (TP 4903) - Route DB03R - Sunny Bay Station (63061)

Each will be limited to 600 pieces.

These are the first models to carry the attractive Discovery Bay Transit livery and it is hoped that further models from this fleet will follow.

Meanwhile, a release date has been announced for the release of the two Kowloon Motor Bus 'Year of the Rooster' models, this being 22nd January. The ADL Enviro500 features ATENU139 on route 265B (KMB-M-2016004) whilst the Wrights bodied Volvo B9TL features AVBWU429 on route 603 (KMB-M-2016005).

Today saw the retirement of the last 'HY' prefixed registrations, which includes those carried by KMB's short Dennis Dragons. The top photograph shows ADS188 (left) and ADS186 whilst the bottom shows ADS190 (left) and ADS189 - photographs captured at Shatin. Due for release in February is Citybus Enviro500NG 8481 carrying all-over advertising for 'Weisen U' medicine. It is on route 102 to Shau Kei Wan and is limited to 688 pieces (CM119).

Set for release on Saturday (14th) are these two Kowloon Motor Bus Daimler 'C' types. AD 4751 (top) features sliding gates and is on route 1 with a destination of Star Ferry - Kowloon City' (KMB-M-2016003) whilst AD 4778 features folding doors and is on route 2 to So Uk (KMB-M-2016006). Each is limited to 900 pieces. New pages and photographs will be added shortly.

Pure coincidence, on two counts, when I came across this old 'Buses' magazine whilst in the loft today (I can't believe this was almost 20 years ago!)

Firstly Citybus route 629, or Ocean Park Express as it is commonly referred to, commenced in 1987 and is a popular service linking Ocean Park and Admiralty. With the recent opening of the MTR's South Island Line, as from Wednesday (11th Jan) the route will reduce to just five daily departures from Central Ferry Pier.

Secondly, the magazine contains an excellent seven page interview with Lyndon Rees MBE, the then Managing Director of Citybus - a more recent interview with Lyndon appears in this month's edition of 'Buses', the second part to follow in February's edition.

Citybus 'facelift' 12.8 metre Enviro500 6807 is the newest of its class, and further photographs will be added tomorrow showing the interior of these new 'Cityflyer' branded buses.

Tomorrow (Saturday) will see the release of the above two China Motor Bus 'DMS' Daimler Fleetlines from P&T Diecast. XF145 is on route 11 to Central (DC1003) whilst XF148 is also on route 11, but with a destination of Tai Hang Road (DC1004).

These two Kowloon Motor Bus Daimler 'C' types have just been announced. The first (top) features sliding gates and is on route 1 (Tsim Sha Tsui - Kowloon City) whilst the second has folding doors and is on route 2 (So Uk). Each is limited 900 pieces.

Released yesterday in Hong Kong is this open-top tram. Featuring tram no. 68 it carries Hong Kong Tramways 'Tramoramic' decals (TT33801) It is limited to 1,000 pieces.

The final release of 2016 was this Go Idea Metsec bodied Daimler Fleetline with all-over advertising for Red A. It represents Kowloon Motor Bus D893 and is limited to 480 pieces (JA526007).
