Enter the Circus Tram!

A brainchild and joint effort between Hong Kong Tramways and the Hong Kong start-up CIRCUS. The two companies have collectively designed and built the new tramcar and services. Only members are allowed on board and membership is limited to 108 people per year and costs HK$20,000 up front (approx £2,000), which can be used as credit later.

The wooden frame structure of the tram is exposed as it carries no advertising panels. There is no rear staircase thus maximising space - there is also a toilet on board and three cabins that can be used for artistic salons, concerts, debates and private functions. Just follow this link to the Circus Tram website (link no longer available).

My thanks to Ken M H Hui for allowing me to share his photographs.
