The model - late
January 2014 saw
a surprise announcement that two Albion Victors from a new
manufacturer, A & K Model, were to be released on 30th. This
version features L17 and represents the bus in 1974 whilst the second
version (38802)
features L51 in 1976. Interestingly the release of this model
coincides with the 53rd anniversary of the registration of the actual
bus!
The bus
- in March 1960, Kowloon Motor Bus took delivery of an Albion Victor
VT17AL demonstrator and a subsequent order for 100 further vehicles was
placed. All carried British Aluminium Company bodies, produced in England and
shipped to Hong Kong ckd (completely knocked down) for assembling by
KMB. L17 was first registered on 30th January 1961 and was withdrawn on
25th April 1985. Mike Davis's excellent book
