The model - News
of this 'Hongkong Post' gift set, which contains three Euro V
engined Enviro500s, was announced in July 2013.
The following is an extract from their press release dated 7th July
2013 :-
"Having
a long history, Hong Kong buses have been providing convenient and
reliable services to citizens in Hong Kong since the 1920s. The popular
transportation keeps pace with times and evolves in terms of
appearance, carrying capacity, comfort level as well as environmental
friendliness all these years. Nowadays, buses have become one of the
indispensable means of transport for Hong Kong people.
Hongkong
Post is pleased to present a “Hong Kong Buses Stamp Sheetlets with Bus
Models Prestige Gift Set” which comes with a $5 stamp sheetlet, a $20
stamp sheetlet and a set of three 1:76 Enviro 500 Euro V bus models. In
the $20 stamp sheetlet, lenticular printing effect is applied to the
stamp. Three Euro V buses set against the background of Victoria
Harbour in day, at twilight and at night respectively are imprinted on
the stamp to symbolise Hong Kong Buses serving the public round the
clock. The routes of the 1:76 Enviro 500 Euro V bus models (Citybus:
Route 619, KMB: Route 47X and NWFB: Route 18P) are first ever launched
in Hong Kong, making the set a precious collectible that cannot be
missed.
The order deadline for this stamp product is 24 July 2013."
Orders outstripped supply and this set is difficult to find, having
been released
on 25th September 2013. The two other models in the set are New World
First Bus 5518 (80820) and
Kowloon Motor Bus ATEE5 (39421).
The bus
- 8128 was the first of the third batch of Enviro500s assembled at the
Wuzhoulong Motors plant in China and one of a batch of 77
12-metre
EuroV engined examples, which were delivered between May 2010 and January
2011. The first two to be delivered are 8128 (PF 4940) and 8129 (PF
5373), registered on 5th and 6th May 2010 respectively. These buses are
fitted with revised Roadshow screens and also feature exposed filler
caps.
