The model -  this model, together with the Citybus version, was announced on the 80M Bus Model Shop on Christmas Eve 2008. It was released in January 2009. 

The bus - 5508 is one of a batch of 18 Alexander Dennis Enviro500s fitted with Euro IV environmentally friendly engines. They were ordered in early 2007 and entered service between February 2008 and June 2008. The bodies were shipped to Hong Kong in kit form and assembled by NWFB/Citybus.
