The model - news of this new casting came on 7th May 2019 and an official announcement came three days later on 10th May. Three models were announced, including this version, the others representing 3351 and 3301. All three were released on 11th September 2019.

The product codes printed on the boxes for these three models are all incorrect - that for 63491 reads 63492 - that for 63492 reads 63493 and that for 63493 reads 63491.

The bus - New World First Bus took delivery of two batches of these short, low height Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Tridents, the first between December 1999 and March 2000 (40) and the second between July and September 2002 (20). These are the first air-conditioned double-deckers to operate route 15 to The Peak, which has a height restriction under Mount Kellett Road bridge. They are also used for other routes which require a shorter length bus, including routes 9 and 14.

These buses were retired in 2017/18 and replaced with 60 lowheight Alexander Dennis Enviro400s.
