The above photograph
shows S10, or AC4717,
in later life. It's had it's headlamps and side indicators relocated,
extra
front indicators, short bumper, and the route boxes were painted over.
By 1998, when this picture was taken, it had already been relegated to
a spare vehicle in the service fleet after serving as a cash box bus
since
1983.
Additional information
is that the registration
number was transferred to another service vehicle in 1998. The "new"
AC4717
was originally CF4231, which itself was originally AC4780, a 1966 Guy
Arab
V double decker later re-bodied with an Alexander body kit and
re-registered
CF4231 in 1980.
For a few months in
1998 the "old", de-registered
AC4717 was still seen in CMB's parking site while the "new" AC4717 was
seen on the streets, and sometimes in the same parking site!
