The model - this model appeared in ABC Model's catalogue issued at Showbus 2000 and was first released in the UK in November 2000. It was released in Hong Kong on 5th January 2001.

The bus - MCW Super Metrobuses ML1 and ML2 were the first of six trial buses to be used by China Motor Bus for evaluation purposes. ML1 was delivered in May 1981, with ML2 following in late October that same year. Upon it's withdrawal from service, it was shipped to Australia for City Sightseeing duties.

ML1 has since been acquired for preservation, and the following Xtra page shows the same vehicle on 26th January 2007, Australia Day, operating a special shuttle service in Sydney.
