Hong
Kong Bus Operators ... Citybus
The first Cityflyer 'new-generation' Enviro500s... January 2013 - September 2014 |
Fleet Nos 8000-8065 | |
In November 2012, Alexander Dennis unveiled its 'new-generation', three-axle Enviro500 double deck, and announced advance orders for more than 530. The stylish, new-look vehicle is lighter, more fuel-efficient and can carry 90 seated passengers. It has been designed specifically for the Asia Pacific market and 532 will be delivered to Hong Kong operators such as KMB, Long Win Bus, Citybus and MTRC during 2013 and early 2014.
|
|
The Citybus order is for 156 buses, 107 of which will be 12 metre and 49 will be 11.3 metre. 66 of the 12 metre examples are for Cityflyer operations.

Wednesday
16th January 2013 saw fleet no. 8001 make an appearance at the
Central Ferry
Pier as part of the UK's Under Secretary of State for Transport visit to Hong Kong, the key focus being the role of UK
companies in the Hong Kong transport sector. The following photographs were taken at the same event and my special thanks to Grant Ng Kwok Kuen for allowing me to use his excellent photographs. The size of the larger 'clickable' images has been increased to a width of 1600 pixels. |

It is understood that following tests at the above mentioned Examination Centre, the vehicle was found to exceed the maximum permitted length of 12 metres. This problem is believed to have been resolved in early March.
