Kowloon
Motor Bus took delivery of its first BYD K9A electric bus, or
e-bus, in September 2012. It is believed to be the
first of an order for ten. It was noted parked in Lai Chi Kok
depot
when I visited in November 2012.
On 14th
January 2013 the bus was allocated fleet no. BE1 and
registered RV8143.

On Monday 9th September 2013, an
official ceremony was held at the Star Ferry Bus Terminus to mark the
introduction of the first franchised
battery-powered electric bus in Hong Kong. Later that same
day the bus commenced operations on route 2 between Star Ferry and So
Uk.
