CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) is the principal subsidiary of CLP Holdings, and is the largest electricity company in Hong Kong. First established in 1901 as the China Light and Power Limited, it operates a vertically integrated electricity generation, transmission and distribution business. It serves 2.2 million customers in commercial, infrastructure and public sector as well as domestic customers - representing 80% of Hong Kong's population - in a 1,000 square kilometre area encompassing Kowloon, the New Territories and most outlying islands.

The company operates a small fleet of buses for staff transportation, these initially comprised of a batch of Alexander bodied Leyland/Volvo Olympians, which were operated on the company's behalf by Citybus. These were replaced in 2009 with five Alexander Dennis Enviro500s.

Where to spot CLP Buses

It is quite hard to catch the CLP fleet. Buses leave the site in Tuen Mun at around 1700hrs (Monday to Friday) and depart to various points across Hong Kong.

The best location to catch them is right outside the CLP plant in Lung Kwu Tan. This is in an industrial area and is only fed by one bus route, which is the K52 from Tuen Mun Railway Station. You should get off K52 bus at the stop called the 'Shiu Wing Steel Mill' and then 5 mins walk to the location. The exact location is Lung Yiu Road, Lung Kwu Tan - click here for a Google Streetview location - the grassed area is recommended.

Two other locations are:-

Hung Hom Railway Station Bus Terminus, where this photograph of No. 319 was taken. One bus arrives here at 1810 - 1830hrs. For a link to this location in Google Maps, just click here.

Shek Kip Mei, Woh Chai Street, MTR exit B1, where this photograph of No. 318 was taken. A bus
tends to arrive here at 1745 - 1800hrs. For a link to this location in Google Maps, just click here.

These unregistered Alexander Dennis Enviro500s are part of an order for 5 such vehicles.
They were captured at Black Point Power Station in May 2009.
