SMRT has taken delivery of a MAN NG363F A24 articulated bus, which is
believed to be replacing the first articulated bus in Singapore, TIB838H
which has been retired.
The MAN NG363F is bodied by Gemilang with the Lion's City G design
(albeit with slight differences), and is equipped with Gorba (remains
to be confirmed), Spheros air conditioning (first time to be used in Singapore,
also to be confirmed), and probably same layout as the Lion's City G
for seating arrangement with one wheelchair bay likely located opposite
the central exit door.
This bus has been registered as SMB388S, although this is photographed
with a test plate "SMB0000W" for unknown reasons. |

Following yesterdays report, Mark happened, by luck,
to see the bus again with its actual registration plate
"SMB388S" when doing
some photography at Orchard Road. The bus was believed to be on driver
familiarisation. Unfortunately, due to the presence of a broken down
double decker on the right, Mark was only able to photograph the bus
at the same angle as the previous day.

It entered service today on route 190 between Choa Chu Kang Bus
Interchange and New Bridge Road Bus Terminal. One interesting
feature to note is that it has translucent bellows which
allows sunlight to enter the bus for illumination.
