| The model
- a preproduction sample of AV8 was on display at the ABC stall at Showbus
2001, and the model was released in Hong Kong on Saturday 13th October
2001.
The bus
- AV8 was the final Ailsa-Volvo to be delivered out of an order of 6 such
vehicles. AV1 and AV2 were trial buses, resulting in an order for AV3-AV8.
It attended the Commercial Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham in October
1978, being displayed on the Walter Alexander stand. It differed from the
previously delivered vehicles in having a Voith fully automatic gearbox.
