The first diecast model of a 12-metre 'New Generation'
Enviro500
represented a Citybus Cityflyer example, being issued in
December
2013 and produced by Model 1 (see 63301).
With
Kowloon Motor Bus taking delivery of a large number of
standard layout examples, it was only a matter of time before
a
model appeared and on 16th January 2014 the release
date of
27th January was announced.
The bus
- In
November 2012, Alexander Dennis unveiled
its 'new-generation', three-axle Enviro500 double deck, and
announced advance orders for more than 530. The stylish, new-look
vehicle is lighter, more fuel-efficient and can carry 90 seated
passengers. It has been designed specifically for the Asia Pacific
market and 532 will be delivered to Hong Kong operators such as KMB,
Long Win Bus, Citybus and MTR during 2013 and early 2014.
The
Kowloon Motor Bus order is believed to be for around 350 examples,
although 22 of these are destined for the Long Win fleet. ATENU1 was
the first to be registered on 23rd April
2013. ATENU70 was
registered on 29th August 2013. By 27th January 2014, when this model
was released, ATENU236 was the latest to be registered.
