The model - this is one of two releases of this new casting, which features the 'glass staircase', and announced on the KMB Shop website on 22nd July 2020, the other features E6X21 (KMB2020019).
 

The bus - Kowloon Motor Bus introduced it's E6X class in August 2019, these being 12.8 metre long Euro 6 ADL 'facelift' Enviro500s with a glass staircase. By the 21st July 2020, one-hundred and twenty-nine such buses had entered service. The first eighteen of the type feature orange destination equipment whilst the remainder, with the exception of E6X27/28, are fitted with bright white equipment. E6X1 is the first of the class and was registered on 13th August 2019.
