The model -
this new casting was first announced on 22nd May 2012, and two versions
were released very shortly afterwards. Both feature the first of the
batch, AAU1 - this version has a destination of Tin Tsz whilst the
other (93002) has a destination of Sheung Shui.
The bus
- Confirmed
by Alexander Dennis Ltd in June 2010 was an order for thirty Enviro200
Darts for Kowloon Motor Bus. These vehicles are 10.4m in length
and are fitted with two Ventura doors. KMB have also specified a
six-cylinder EEV engine and Voith transmission to cope with the steep
gradients and high passenger loadings experienced in Hong Kong. The
buses have 28 Lazzerini Practico seats, allowing up to 34
standees. Denso
air conditioning is fitted and one feature this provides is an “air
curtain” over the doors, thereby maintaining the interior environment
when they are open. Other features include twin row headlights, kerb
lighting at the nearside rear and Hanover Flip Dot Destination gear. AAU1 was registered on 30th March 2011.
