This book was published in late January
2011. It is the first fleetbook by Dominic and the most noticeable
difference between this and previously published fleetbooks is its
large size. I am grateful t o Dominic K H
Kung for providing a sample copy to enable me to prepare the following review.
It contains 128 pages and all text is in Chinese. Its format is as follows:-
Page 3 - Introduction of KMB Page 7 - Double-deckers Page 77 - Single-deckers Page 94 - Introduction of Long Win Page 104 - Training Buses Page 108 - Classic Buses Page 112 - Service trucks Page 114 - Lists of KMB/Long Win fleets and routes Page
127 - Specifications
The
larger size of this fleetbook compared to previous ones allows the use
of larger photographs demonstrating the differing vehicle types.
Text is very brief and as mentioned above all in Chinese. I found on or
two of the photographs, especially in the Long Win section, to be
quite dark. The actual fleet list section totals ten pages towards the
rear of the book and as one would expect is broken down into class
types. The information provided for each class type consists of
the fleet number and registration number. The final two pages of
the book give the specification for the varying class types and this is
in a landscape table format.
As a
photographic record of the current KMB and Long Win fleet, I think this
book is quite superb, with the exception of a few dark
photographs. Its larger size is a positive in this
respect, but for use as a reference book for a detailed fleet
list, its size becomes a negative and the information for each vehicle
is not as comprehensive, or as easy to access, as I would
expect.
