The model - Released in Hong Kong on Monday 31st December 2001 was the second Daimler 'D' to be issued by Cars Workshop.

The bus - D332 was one of the first of batch of 20 vehicles specially designed for KMB by Daimler, in an attempt to regain the market lost to AEC, and were the last rear-staircase buses to enter service for KMB. It entered service in February 1967. A further 200 vehicles were delivered, known as the 'E' class.

The model depicts the vehicle in its post 1974 condition - having had yellow bands applied at the front to denote one-conductor-operation, but prior to the removal of the rear staircase, which was replaced with centre a staircase and centre exit (1980). The width of the front entrance was also narrowed and moved forward to enable one-man-operation. D332 was withdrawn in May 1980.

The above information has been extracted from Mike Davis's
excellent book Hong Kong Buses - Kowloon Motor Bus.
