The model - This is the second release of LF106 from Best Choose, the first being released in January 2003 in the red and cream livery of CMB (03011). This model was re-issued in October 2005, in a diorama, being issued by 80M Bus Model Shop in conjunction with Best Choose and given a product code of 803012.

The bus - China Motor Bus took delivery of 305 Long Fleetlines between 1975 and 1979. The first batch of 30 vehicles had MetSec bodywork, the second batch of 75 had an improved MetSec bodywork, LF106 carried a unique MetSec bodywork and the final batch (LF107-305) had Alexander bodywork. Several of the first batch of 30 received new Alexander bodies between 1986 and 1988,

LF106 is a uniquely bodied Fleetline, new to China Motor Bus in July 1976. This was the last Metal Sections body fitted to the Fleetline chassis, and was an attempt by Metsec to update the body from their rather 'bland' looking bodies fitted to LF1 - LF105. The modifications included a peaked dome, similar to Alexander bodied versions, push-out opening top deck front windows and additional bodywork trim. No further examples were delivered to any Hong Kong bus operator, although quantities were to delivered to Singapore.

The above information has been extracted from the excellent reference book 'Hong Kong Buses - China Motor Bus',
by Mike Davis and published by DTS Publishing.
