New World First Bus

The model - This model was released in Hong Kong in August 1998, but failed to appear in any significant numbers here in the UK. It carries the New World First Bus 'wave' livery, and the casting is different to the two earlier Trident models, Nos. 44301 & 44302, having the centre exit doors set back further, as shown in the photograph. This was as a result of a ruling by the Hong Kong Transport Department, who considered the close proximity of the doors to the position for wheelchair passengers to be unsafe.

Quantities of this model were again made available by New World First Bus, to mark the opening of their Customer Service Centre, which occurred on 16th July 2000. The model can also be purchased "on-line" through the Cyber Shop of NWFB.

The bus - This, the first new Dennis Trident for this new bus company, was registered on 21st July 1998 and it is the first of a batch of 190 such vehicles delivered in the company's first year.
