The model - ABC Models produced two versions of ML2, the model featured on this page representing the vehicle in its later life, with sliding upper deck front windows replacing the small top openers, the registration plate now on a white background and located under the drivers windscreen, the added vent on the panel below this, and a stepped paint line at the front, as shown in the picture above. This in fact nicely follows the "join" in the casting, although I am unsure whether the step at the back is accurate. The difference in the two models is clearly visible in the photograph below.

The bus - MCW Super Metrobuses ML1 and ML2 were the first of six trial buses to be used by Chian Motor Bus for evaluation purposes. ML1 was delivered in May 1981, with ML2 following in late October that same year. ML2 was unique in the CMB fleet, in as much it featured three doors, something that Kowloon Motor Bus favoured on it's biggest buses.

Model No 000811 (left) and 000821 (right)

The other model (000811) represents the vehicle when new, with the front upper deck windows having only small top openers, the registration plate located on the nearside of the front bumper, and no added grille in the front panel between the indicators/sidelights. It also features a straight paint line between the blue and cream. It carries a destination of North Point.

ML2 was shipped to Australia by City Sightseeing, but soon after was sold on, after many 'spares' had been removed.
