China Motor Bus

The model - This model was issued to celebrate 60 years of Hong Kong's buses. Formed in 1933, China Motor Bus, operating on Hong Kong Island, exclusively used single deck buses of British manufacture. By 1990, CMB had a fleet of over 1,000 buses, all double-deck and still of British origin.

This model was commissioned by the Hong Kong Transport Society and Tin Dragon Enterprises exclusively for Hong Kong, however, Allsorts  obtained rights on 1,000 of these for sale in England, attractively boxed in a special edition "China Motor Bus" box, shown below.

The bus - The MC (Metrobus Coach) class consisted of 12 MCW Metrobus Mk1s. These vehicles were purchased in 1978 in order to encourage the motorist to commute by bus to the central business district in conjunction with other bus priority schemes introduced at the time. They were the first double-deck coaches operating in the territory.
