The model - news of this model first appeared on 8th December 2022 when it was offered
as a pre-order item to Citybus and New World First Bus staff. It was
announced as a pre-order item by Model 1 on 14th January 2023 and
released shortly afterwards. My thanks to Peter Harrison for sending me
photographs of the model.
The bus
- 8829 is the final bus of a batch of thirty such vehicles which
entered service with Citybus between December 2019 and January
2022. It was first registered on 21st January 2022. It made its debut in Year of the Rabbit livery on 11th January 2023.
The wording on the box reads:- "To
celebrate the year of the rabbit, Citybus adorned an Volvo B8L (Fleet
number: 8829) with an exclusive edition "Joyous Rabbit" design. Our
Joyous Rabbit is decorated with meticulous yet powerful ink wash
painting style in smart golden yellow. The joyous rabbit is looking at
the fruitful results with shimmering eyes. We hope everyone will be
lucky, wealthy and prosperous all year round!
