The model - this is one of two 'retro' liveried buses unveiled by Kowloon Motor Bus in April 2023 as part of the company's 90th anniversary celebrations. The other features E6M93, an 11.3 metre ADL 'facelift' Enviro500. This model was released at KMB's open-day held at Shatin on 22nd April 2023 and confirmation is awaited regarding the possibility of a model of the second bus.
     
The bus -  the Volvo B9TL is a low-floor double-decker model and it has superseded the B10TL (Super Olympian). It is only available in 3-axle format. AVBE1 was the first to enter service with KMB in January 2005 and was used for evaluation. Subsequent orders were placed and deliveries took place between 2006 and 2008. AVBE59 was first registered on 18th October 2007.
