The bus
- AV1 was the first Volvo Olympian to be fitted with air-conditioning
and the first to be delivered to KMB. It arrived completely built up in
the autumn of 1993, having been bodied by Alexanders in Falkirk,
Scotland. It was registered FW5572 on 10th January 1994. It
carried a Volvo emblem on the radiator grille and featured low
level fog lights set into the front bumper. Its headlight surrounds
were painted black. It suffered accident damage in December 1996 and
re-emerged with a modified grille, losing its Volvo emblem and fog
lights and model 92207
is based on this modification. Subsequent deliveries commenced in
August 1994, these being shipped in kit form and assembled in Hong
Kong. The final delivery was in the shape of AV531, which was
registered on 7th September 1998.
