Hong Kong Bus Operators ... KMB New Scania K230UB single-deckers - 2009

As reported at the beginning of March 2009, Kowloon Motor Bus had placed orders for twenty 10.6 metre and ten 12 metre Scania K230UB single-deck buses with Salvador Caetano bodywork. The final order resulted in twenty 10.6 metre and thirty 12 metre examples being delivered, the sorter length being allocated class type ASB and the longer length ASC. The final 12 metre example was fitted with a Euro V compliant engine, and rather than receiving fleet no ASC30, was allocated fleet number ASCU1.

The 12 metre examples began operating on route 74A on 18th July 2009.  ASC3 is seen here on its first day in service.

The last of the 10.6 metre batch, ASB20 (NV8110), was captured in Wing Shing Lane, Yau Ma Tei on 7th July 2009 whilst on driver familiarisation duties.

The first of the batch entered service in late May 2009 and were allocated class type ASB.  ASB6 (NU9285) was photographed in Jordan Road on 27th May on route 2C to Tsim Sha Tsui.
