A new page has
tonight been added to the
section of the site for the
new MTR Bus Enviro500s featured in yesterday's News.
Work on the 'Trams'
section, which included some changes to its layout and
appearance, has now been completed and all pages should again
be
accessible.

MTR Bus has purchased
nine 11.3 metre Alexander Dennis Enviro500s for
use on the West-Rail feeder bus routes. It is expected they will enter
service between now and early 2013. Four have so far arrived
and were
seen in mid August with tests and trial runs expected to
commence
shortly. My special thanks to Grant Ng Kwok Kuen for providing both the
information and photographs, more of which will be added to the section of the site shortly.

A correction
for the quantities of the two Cars Workshop Alexander Dennis Enviro200
Darts - AAU13 (93003)
is limited
to 600 pieces and AAU21 (93004)
is limited
to 1,200 pieces. The destination of the latter reads 'Kam Sheung Road
Railway Station', but in Chinese only.
The 'Trams'
section is currently undergoing some changes resulting in the
continuity between pages not being what it should be!
Hopefully
this work will be completed shortly.

My thanks to Mark Chua

Singapore
update shortly.

A third version, with a quantity of just 18 pieces, features a blank
route and destination, just like the actual buses after its last
service. With a very special
certificate, one of these was the prize in the lucky draw
section of their recent bus model sharing show. The remaining
models will be used for other lucky draw of BUSME function and
some of them will only sell to the BusMe's members, details
of which will announced in due course.

Wuzhoulong FDG6120HEVS 'Pure Electric' hybrid bus.
I am now on holiday for
just over a
week so there will be no updates during this time. Please do continue

The BusMe
Facebook page has several photographs of sample models of
their forthcoming Dennis Dragon GA6479. One is on route 1A to
Star Ferry and the other on route 16M, with a blank
destination, which is a nice touch. Further details will be published
when known.
Further to yesterdays
news on the recently published book 'Amazing Ding Ding', I am advised
the book is available from most bookshops
in Hong Kong, including 80M Bus Model Shop. It is also
available
from at least two on-line shops.
The
poster shown below features all the wooden trams prior to the new-build
ones and 12 of these have already disappeared, having been scrapped
already.
I can confirm that a review will appear here in due course.

The first of
Citybus's YoungMan single deckers has been allocated fleet number 1811
and was yesterday registered as RN819.
Not previously mentioned
is
the
book 'Amazing Ding Ding' which was published in June and gives
an
insight into Hong Kong's unique double-deck trams. In addition
to
the history of tramways,
clarification is given to some errors and myths, which are
well
illustrated. It also
includes rare or undisclosed contents such as tramlines
development, variety of tramcars, engineering, depots and advertising.
Included is a poster which I believe features every tram!
The book is written in Chinese and is supported with prefaces by
renowned parties from UK and Germany. It retails for HK$118. I hope to add a full review in due
course
