The model - Based on Corgi's standard open top Routemaster, this model, commissioned by the Hong Kong Transport Society, was issued in March 1996.

The bus - This authentic open-top Routemaster appears in the livery of Peak Tramways Company, a company managed and maintained by Citybus, whose buses operate a shuttle service between the Central ferry terminal to the lower Peak Tramways station.

RM1703 was acquired in 1991, from Clydeside Scottish Omnibuses Ltd, and arrived in Hong Kong in that Company's colours of red and yellow. It became No 3 in the fleet, and received its third registration number of EZ 8357, formerly LDS 286A and originally 703 DYE. In the summer of 1992, it had it's roof removed, and in the summer of 1993, it was painted into the attractive livery of Peak Tramways.
