China Motor Bus

The model - the first Hong Kong liveried Metropolitan was released in Hong Kong in July 2003, following a number of UK liveried models issued under the Britbus name. This model was imported into the UK by wholesalers John Ayrey Die-Casts, and should therefore be generally available. In 2006, a variation of this model was offered to collectors of a Spanish Model magazine, and details of this model can be found at the bottom of this page. My thanks to Andrew Shirley for providing me with this information and photos.

The bus - China Motor Bus purchased two MCW-Scania 'Metropolitans' in 1975, namely Fleet Numbers MS1 and MS2. These buses were part of CMB's attempts to increase the 'spec' of vehicles operating on town routes, as well as being used for evaluation purposes.

Upon their arrival, in November 1975, they operated Cross-Harbour Tunnel route 102. Both were withdrawn in the late 1980's.

The above information has been extracted from Mike Davis's
excellent book Hong Kong Buses - China Motor Bus.
