| The model
- The second Metropolitan from AsianBus features MS1 in blue and cream
livery and was released in both Hong Kong and the UK in September 2003.
This model was imported into the UK by wholesalers John Ayrey Die-Casts,
and was generally available at the time. In 2006,
a variation of this model was offered to collectors of a Spanish Model
magazine, and details of this model can be found at the bottom of this
page. My thanks to Andrew Shirley for providing me with this information
and photos.
The bus
- China Motor Bus purchased two MCW-Scania 'Metropolitans' in 1975, namely
Fleet Numbers MS1 and MS2. These buses were part of CMB's attempts to increase
the 'spec' of vehicles operating on town routes, as well as being used
for evaluation purposes.
Upon their arrival, in November 1975, they
operated Cross-Harbour Tunnel route 102. Both were withdrawn in the late
1980's.
