Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) was the first Hong Kong bus company to order the Centroliner, it's initial order totalling 20 vehicles. After a series of trials, commencing in August 1998, the vehicles entered service on 1st August 1999. The first route that these buses were allocated was 296C, which runs between Sheung Tak in Tseung Kwan O and Tonkin Street in Sham Shui Po. It currently has a fleet of over 160 Neoplans.

The Neoplan Centroliner is a 12 metre, low-floor double-decker bus. Like the Dennis Trident, the Centroliner is powered by a Cummins M11-305E engine with ZF 5HP590 transmission. Electronic route display is used, which is rare in the fleet of KMB.

New World First Bus operate 30 of these vehicles.
