The model - this is one of two BYD models announced by Kowloon Motor Bus on 9th June 2023, the other featuring BEB3 on route 6 to Star Ferry (KMB2023005). Both were released on 10th June.
   
The bus - Kowloon Motor Bus registered XV5838 on 8th February 2022, this being the first of sixteen BYD B12 single-deckers, allocating it the fleet number BEB1.
