The model - this is one of two BYD models announced by Kowloon Motor Bus on 9th June 2023, the other featuring BEB1 (KMB2023004). Both were released on 10th June.
   
The bus - Kowloon Motor Bus registered sixteen BYD B12 single-deckers between February and May 2022. BEB3 was first registered on 12th May 2022.
