The model - this model is one of a set of three Olympians issued as 'The Olympian Story'. See 45004b and 45004c for the two other models.

The bus - LA1 belonged to the first batch of new Leyland Olympians ordered by CMB ten years after introducing the two-axled Olympians in 1981. She was also the first 11 metre, three-axled Olympian of CMB fitted with Alexander R type bodywork.

Together with the other four vehicles of the same batch, LA1 highlighted the beginning of a diversified air-conditioned fleet of CMB to strengthen its service in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island.
