The model - This is one of a set on three Olympians issued as 'The Olympian Story'. See 45004a and 45004c for the two other models.

The bus - LA6 was among the second batch of Leyland Olympians. She impressed the public with its eye-catching livery of red and yellow lines on different shades of blue, together with Chinese and English lettering of "Air Conditioned Bus".

In this livery, LA6 served on Cross Harbour routes 107, 111, 307 and 312 at the early stage. Later she was deployed to operate on routes 504 and 537 of the Southern District.

It was a pity that this striking livery was only an experimental one of the new air-conditioned buses of CMB, and was greatly missed by the bus fans when LA6 was later repainted in the simple but standardised version of blue lines on white.
