The model - this is one of two models that form the set 'Network 26' issued in Hong Kong in December 1999. The other features Leyland Atlantean no. 602 (45006a).

The bus - In 1992 Citybus won the tender from the Hong Kong Government to take over the franchise of 28 routes from China Motor Bus. This network included 26 local Hong Kong Island routes and two cross-harbour routes with a requirement for 100 new air-conditioned buses and 100 non air-conditioned buses.

The air-conditioned double-deck buses included 52 twelve metre Leyland Olympians, which were the first of their type in Hong Kong.

The non air-conditioned buses were purchased second-hand from Singapore and were refurbished to bring them up to standard, prior to entering service.

The name "Network 26" was the brand name given to this network of routes and was applied to most of the buses operating on them, as well as bus stops and publicity.
