B&B posted a photograph, on social media, of a prototype resin
model of a Jonckheere Monaco bodied Volvo B12 coach asking
visitors' views or comments on the model. In November 2023, the company
posted photographs of a plain white completed example and later that
same month issued an apology over its unlicensed releases stating it
would not be releasing any further Citybus models, just two plain white
examples. No further posts were made on the model. I
believe ten Citybus liveried models were released in September
2024 along with the three plain white examples. If you know of any other variants that I
have not listed, do please e-mail
me.
Craig
Bell kindly contacted me in June 2025 informing me that he had a model
based on this release, which is in the livery of Ritchies of New
Zealand. This company acquired several of the actual coaches from
Citybus, details of which can be found by following this link.
The Ritchies example carried the fleet number 530 and photographs of
Craig's model can be found below, as can a photograph of the real thing!

The bus
- Citybus
registered five Jonckheere Monaco bodied Volvo B12 coaches on 29th
March 1996, allocating them the fleet numbers 2001-2005. They were
originally destined for a Japanese operator, but the sale fell through
and Volvo offered them to Citybus for a reduced price. They were used
to operate cross-border services from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, Dongguan
and Guangzhou.
Further information and photographs of the actual vehicles can be found
in the XTRA
section
of the site, just follow this link.
