This new casting features the 7th generation tram and was released in August 2014.  Hong Kong Tramways launched the seventh generation tram on 28th November 2011. It is a combination of modern interior design with traditional tram body exterior. The face-lift allows the tram's iconic image to be maintained.

Model Review by John Prentice

The newest 00 model from 80M in Hong Kong is of car 1, one of the latest new bodied "all metal" trams. The most noticeable differences from the 1987 type of previous 80M models is that the folding doors are full height, there are less windows on the lower deck off-side and the side windows have all lost their curved corners. The model has a different seat moulding from the normal, representing the new style seats. The window "glass" mouldings on this model differ with previous 80M models in that they are more flush with the sides. Looks a little plain in all green, the prototypes only stay like this for a very short period before receiving all over adverts.

I am grateful to John for allowing me to publish this review. John
